Privacy and data

Privacy policy

Don't Take My Image is a photo-processing tool. This policy explains how the current version uses Photos permissions, handles photos, and stores settings when you save or share your work.

App: Don't Take My Image Effective date: September 18, 2026 Applies to: Current public version

1. Summary

The current version of Don't Take My Image does not require registration or sign-in. It has no account system, cloud database, advertising network, analytics service, tracking tool, third-party analytics SDK, StoreKit, subscription, or paid unlock flow.

Photos and editing content stay on your device. The app does not upload original photos, output photos, or watermark text to a Don't Take My Image server.

2. What data we handle

Photos and videos

When you choose product photos with the native iOS Photos Picker, the app receives only the photos you select and pass to it. It uses them to create watermark previews and output photos. Decoding, cropping, adjustment, and watermark composition happen on the device.

Original high-resolution photos are not sent to a Don't Take My Image server. To let you re-edit Recent Records, the app retains the full original photos you select (not just thumbnails) together with their watermark settings in local SwiftData storage. They are not uploaded or synced, but they may use significant device storage; the history cleanup settings show the amount currently retained.

Text and settings you enter

You may enter platform names, account names or nicknames, a purpose, custom text, a date, and watermark style settings. To restore your preferences and support the Recent Records editing flow, the app stores this editing data, a settings summary, output thumbnails, and the full original photos you selected locally. This data is not synced to a Don't Take My Image server and does not create an account we can access.

Local storage includes iOS UserDefaults and SwiftData app storage. The data is used by the app on the same device to restore settings and reopen records.

Data we currently do not collect

The current version does not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, contacts, payment data, device identifiers, usage analytics, diagnostics, or advertising identifiers for Don't Take My Image. Photos and text are not used for advertising tracking.

3. Permissions and export

Photo selection

The app uses the native iOS Photos Picker so you can choose the photos to process. You decide which photos to provide in the system picker; the app does not read your entire photo library when you do not select photos.

Saving to Photos

The app requests permission to add completed output photos to Photos only when you press the save action. This permission is used to save output photos, not to upload or scan your library. Denying permission does not stop on-device editing and creation, but it prevents the app from writing directly to Photos.

Temporary output

While creating photos, the app creates temporary JPEG files on the device for saving or the native iOS share flow. After the flow finishes or you leave it, the app cleans up the temporary output files it created.

4. Sharing and third-party services

If you choose Share, the app opens the native iOS Share Sheet and passes the output files you selected to the destination you choose in the system interface. That destination may be Messages, Mail, cloud storage, or another installed app; how it handles data is governed by that destination's privacy policy.

Don't Take My Image currently has no first-party backend and no advertising service in its banner. The banner is only a reserved local layout component. If advertising, analytics, sign-in, cloud sync, or paid services are added later, this policy and the App Store Connect App Privacy information will be updated before release.

5. Your choices, deletion, and retention

You can deny photo selection or save permissions and stop using the related features at any time. App settings, Recent Records, thumbnails, and full original photos stay on the device until you delete records manually, apply an automatic cleanup policy, or clear/delete the app. History cleanup defaults to manual management and does not automatically delete original photos; you can choose a record limit or age-based cleanup in settings. Deleting the app removes local data from the app's storage; output photos already saved to Photos remain in your photo library and must be deleted there.

Copies you send to another app through the Share Sheet are handled according to that app or service's retention rules. Don't Take My Image cannot delete those copies for you.

This app has no account or Don't Take My Image cloud data, so there is currently no account deletion request to submit to us. If you have questions about this policy or local data handling, use the contact details below.

6. Security and policy updates

We use the iOS app sandbox, Photos permissions, and native file storage for local data. Data processed on a device can be affected by the device's unlock state, backups, and other system settings, so please protect your device appropriately.

If features, third-party services, or data handling change materially, this page will be updated with a new effective date and content. Continuing to use the app after an update means you have read the updated policy.
